Pats are apparently looking for 2 1st round picks

hahahaha. This whole thing is going to make them less likely to move him/pay him. After this year they'll transition tag him because theyre spiteful meanspirited bastards who seem to win a lot

he can't be worth that much

is this guy really up there with

Moss
Harrison
Johnson
Owens
Holt
Smith

??

Dude, its leverage. They know that NO ONE would pay that. You'd be hard pressed to find someone to pay it for any of those guys on that list either.

NFL Live said that the Patriots have put out a press release saying that the 4pm deadline has passed and Deion Branch will remain a Patriot. I wouldn't be surprised if Branch holds out until week 10.

Branch is not good enough to retain any value after a holdout like that. I love having him and he's a very good receiver but whoever is whispering this crap in his ear better tell him to hit the treadmill and get ready to play some football. If he holds out that long it will be disastrous for him.

who would be considered the #1 reciever for the Pats this year ? Troy Brown who they had playing defense a couple years ago? I think they should rethink this "win with anyone" philosophy after what happened last year. Keep in mind Brady took a lesser contract so guys like Branch could get some.

exactly what happened last year? they were devasted by injuries, got guys back and got rolling, won a playoff game, and played their worst game in 5 years at the worst possible time?

they were good enough to win the Super Bowl last year, injured as they were. win @ Denver, get Pitt at home, etc

Cut him? Auto FA. All he has to do is report. Once he does that, he's fulfilled his contract....
