Re: NL100 My QQ 3bet gets coldcalled by TAG
You know, I don't really mind this.
An 18/13 isn't cold calling much at all from the blinds like that, esp given you haven't been 3betting. If we say his range is TT+, I think it's AA a LOT more than TT tbh. It would be much different if the original raiser called as opposed to SB. On the turn, the only thing you really beat is JJ. I doubt he bets JJ again on the river. |

Re: NL100 My QQ 3bet gets coldcalled by TAG
I like your line. If I bet the flop I'm not folding to a raise. I think I like a weak flop bet/call better to induce an all in from 88-AA, maybe AK, a range that you're ahead of.
As played, this is a lot closer than people think. I don't put villain on a bluff here. I still call though because the first hand I put him on is JJ, and he could have a random suited connector that paired hoping you'll making a call here with A high. |

Re: NL100 My QQ 3bet gets coldcalled by TAG
I hate that everybody's auto response is "omg bet flop" or "get the money in somewhere". Did anybody actually notice the action? A nit just cold-called our 3-bet. This is TT+ like always and now we beat what...JJ? I always talk myself into calling here and feel like an idiot for making his nitty play profitable.

Re: NL100 My QQ 3bet gets coldcalled by TAG
18/13/2.5 to me this is regular tag at 100 nl OP said it was on the nittier side of tag not that the guy was actually a NIT.I still disagree strongly with the way the hand was played.

Re: NL100 My QQ 3bet gets coldcalled by TAG
I agree that the river is certainly a fold unless you think villain would have 4bet AA/KK preflop (but if you thought that you'd have bet the flop). The rest of the hand is murky but your play is certainly reasonable given your description of villain. Flop/turn I put him on JJ+ and I wouldn't rule out AK. Do you think he bets the river with JJ when a blank hits? If so I much prefer bet/fold flop than call turn / fold river as the latter just seems like spew. If you do believe he checks JJ at the river, easy fold and nh.

I play every street the same if I'm imagining villain right.

Re: NL100 My QQ 3bet gets coldcalled by TAG
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] why, oh why didn't we bet the flop? if we do, we figure out if villain has KK or AA. I also agree with cs, we need to raise the turn here. by c/ flop, and c/c the turn, we've obtained just about no information about villain's strength, as well as shown considerable weakness. As played, call. A 10 as well as JJ would push here. However, JJ would probably bet the flop [/ QUOTE ] We don't get info on the flop, he's check/shoving a much wider range that AA-KK and I sure as hell don't feel like bet/folding. I don't care about showing weakness because given villains preflop line he rarely if ever holds air here. JJ is never donkbetting the flop and is unlikely to push the river. Your post is bad. [/ QUOTE ] you're right i did misread the action. i thought the original PFR is the same villain that called your 3-bet. as played i guess the turn is ok, but i still think you should bet the flop, and call river as played. do you think villain is ever cold calling there with like AhKh/AhQh? |
