Default Nevada auto emissions question

Does Nevada have more stringent auto emissions standards than the national ones, a la California's notoriously strict standards?

Thanks,
pokerswami

(This may seem off topic to some, but it is no more off topic than questions about California cost of living, inluding taxes, Las Vegas apartment rates or the crime rates in various cities with B&M casinos.)

When we moved here from SoCal, we noticed that we had to get our car smogged every year, and NV does not electornically transmit the smog cert to the DMV.

In Cal you can both electornically transmit and you only have to smog every 2 years.

Someone needs to tell the DMV that they don't accept electronic transmittals, then, 'cause I just had my car smogged 3 weeks ago and then renewed the tags on the DMV's web page. Never sent 'em anything on paper.

Yes, NV DMV accepts electronic smogs certs sent by the testers. And yes, it's an annoying annual thing (I lump it in with an oil change).
