Tough call with three Aces?
This hand came up last night in a 2/5 NL live game. The game is $200 max buy in and its a great game, very loose and fun. This casino only offers NL games on Wed. and through the weekends. The Wed. game has $200 cap, but the Weekend has no cap and plays pretty deep. So the regulars play pretty loose in this tiny game, and obviously the fish just play bad. In this hand, the button has been raising with a lot of random hands in position, so i wasn't particularly worried about him. The BB is a loose chaser and provides some good action. The villian is pretty tight and I haven't seen him play too many hands in the hour or so he'd been at the table. I'd say that my image is pretty tight, but table image doesn't weigh heavily to these opponents - they just play their cards.
The villian has about $400, I've got about $400 and the SB has about $250 or so. Everyone folds to the villian who limps in ML position. The button raises to $30, I find AQo in the SB and call. The BB calls and the villian calls (pot $120). The flop comes down A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I lead out for $60, the BB calls, the villian moves all in for about $350 or so more. The button folds. Hero???? |

RR PF.
As played, with the given reads, it sounds like a fold. |

Just going on the fact that it is a live game. But surely AJ/AQ are likely. And I wouldn't be at all surprised to see any other Ace. Most players will raise AK preflop. And would a standard villain fastplay a boat so much. Spades, meh, don't expect to see them but you never know. |

[/ QUOTE ] I always call here in live games, you will often be up against a weaker ace or a flush draw, folding probably is not terrible but I don't like it. I guess you are kinda deep. You will stack ATs type of hands here a lot. |

Re: Tough call with three Aces?
I guess I should add that I didn't really think the villian is a very good player. I kind of had him has a guy who read a book or two and knows to wait for good hands, but not a guy who would be able to play real well after the flop. So I thought that a push with a boat here would be a little too advanced for him, as would a semi-bluff for his whole stack. This guy isn't a bluffer. FWIW

Yikes, I'm calling here for sure. Obviously you could looking at about 20% equity (at the worst), but surely you win enough of these. You'd need a pretty damn good read to fold IMO.
