well he may not assume this.
your play in his eyes is repping 6x 55 or 33, and he may not put you on 6x, so kind of a narrow range...i think u get called by 44 77 88 or whatever he has

This line would be perfect to get paid with an overpair, unfortunately you don't have an overpair.

[/ QUOTE ]

was just thinking the same thing, Would be a great line to get max value from a 66-TT if you had JJ+. For that reason it would be a great line for an overpair it looks to be a really bad line for a bluff.

[/ QUOTE ]

Line looks perfect, but how often pairs top pair on the turn? If you have JJ, check through and turn a K you are in a bad spot... I guess that's why most people bet the flop with an overpair here

its very hard to get to showdown profitably if he is aggressive, and we can get value by betting, and betting sets us up to bluff nicely

this isnt like 6x on a 862 board, where i'd be much more inclined to check. Think about how the board is going to look, about what type of hands will play vs us, and about what sorts of lines we might take.

so if checking this flop with an overpair means you can auto-stack any pair, why can't hero have an overpair in his range?

I don't like it, because thinking player should be calling the river with most pocket pairs that he called the turn with (55-JJ).
Main reasons:
1. it is hard for OP to represent big pocket pair after checking the flop, because everyone (and probably also OP) is betting their big pockets on flop to get the money in before scare cards (J,Q,K,A) come on turn/river.
2. it is hard for OP to represent 6x, because there aren't many 6x hands in OP's range after raising the limpers preflop, perhaps A6s, 67s, 56s. It would be much better if it was an open-raise without the limpers, then OP could represent 6x better. One does not put an unknown on 6x when the unknown raises limpers, they think strong pockets/face cards. But all face cards missed, so they hope you have AK and call you down with TT.
