ok so there is really only 2 scare cards left in the deck. If you do just call and river comes an 8 he pushes and shows 88 then thats just bad luck, because if he is bluffing he will bluff the river as well.

lol I understand this.

saying the K rivered is just me bitching about my luck at the river not understanding the best play lol.

I did play it htat way for a reason?

There is no reason not to shove. There is what, $70 left behind after a call?

Just posted similar AA thread with a bad turn bet, think this situation is alot better than mine was though. I definitely think this a shove here, if he doesn't have a king (which he probably does) he has a set of 8's and that's just bad luck. But IMO instant shove.

you say they like to bluff, yet you say shove allowing villain to get max value when you're beat and fold when you're ahead.

Don't get me wrong, if he has a king all the money is going in on the river if he checks to us, and we will probably call a push too.

Someone tell me a reason to push other than value out of a king, because we are getting value out of a king no matter what on the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because there won't be enough money left on the river for him to bluff. Like 90 into a pot of 220. He could have some retarded draws that will fold on the river, yet call on the turn.

Villain usually has a four in this spot IME, but I mean, against these guys you canīt really exclude K6 or some stupid play with AK, KQ, KJ, so yeah, I shove, but no fistpump!

baluga theorem doesn't apply here. OP has 2 pair, not just a single pair

Shoving is the best move obv. You're only worried about 2 hands really... 44 and 66. I just don't see how you can put him on a hand like that.
