Default Air Force at Duke -5

OK, this has got to be a play one way or the other. I'm just not sure which yet. Every gut instinct in the world says that there's no way in hell that Air Force should beat Duke. They lost a lot of talent, but DeMarcus Nelson is good, and Josh McRoberts should be great this year. They finally got [censored] Paulus out of the starting lineup, and Coach K never loses to mid-majors.

On the other hand, as mid-majors go, Air Force is pretty good. They went 24-7 last year before losing to Illinois in the tourney, and they have four starters back from that squad. They also beat Stanford 79-45 and Colorado 84-46 to start out the 2006/2007 season.

Finally, the most compelling evidence of all, and the only reason I'm considering betting Air Force in the first place, opening line: +6, current line: +5, despite 81% of the people on Wagerline picking Duke. 81 percent! Air Force has to be the play, right? Right? Consider this the official "talking myself into betting on Air Force" thread.

if the game is this hard to figure out then it sounds like a pass, not a must play

edit: nevermind i was thinking about the duke football game which everyone i listened to yesterday said was a pass due to confusion

This is my line of thinking as well. I'll be on AF tonight.

This is how impressive they'e been: Colorado scored 70+ in every home game last year except one (63 vs. Kansas). AF holds them to 11 in the first half, 45 for the game. I got AF +6 this morning and I'm confident they will keep it close.

Air Force ALWAYS slows the game down to a horrible pace. It's impossible to run on them and get any rhythm, so you have to be a great half-court team to get a big lead against them. I'm not sure if a young Duke team can do that.
