Re: ***SSNL AUGUST [EMO] THREAD PART 2 ***
Oh, and while I was couch shopping at Crate and Barrel I was talking to a cute-ish girl that works there and wasn't really sure how to flirt without perhaps overstepping the bounds of the saleswoman-shopper relationship. She lives in the same town as me and I probably had an in there since we were talking about how I just moved here, but I didn't want to make things awkward and she prob gets hit on at work a decent amount. What's a good, non-threatening way to gauge interest in that situation?
I'll probably buy it, and she gave me her card for when I do. And no, giving me her card was not a disguised "call me" before anyone suggests that. |

"I will buy the couch on the condition that you come test it out with me".
When she declines, you can just say "Ah well, I'll buy it anyway". |

Well, to be honest, if you're going to get anywhere with her you're going to have to overstep the bounds a little.
Maybe you could just say something like "You're welcome to come and see my new place if you want". She might just chuckle and treat it as a joke, or she might show genuine interest. Either way, no skin off your nose. |

Re: ***SSNL AUGUST [EMO] THREAD PART 2 ***
lol goofy your chances of getting a date DIRECTLY DEPEND on overstepping the bounds of the saleswoman-shopper relationship! Just gotta ask her out directly - she'll prob say no but whatever you'll never see her again, and maybe she'll say yes. If it trainwrecks, you can just run out of the store and buy it online later (pretty cool they overnight you a fabric swatch for approval with the online store btw). Retail girls get randomly flirted with so much that there's really no room for subtlety in this situation.
Anyways your new couch selection looks real nice. I noticed they kept going up and up in price as the search went on lol. This is my favorite part: 'soft down blend seat cushions have an indulgent wrap in downproof ticking to give it that extra ahh factor when you sit down.' |

Well, to be honest, if you're going to get anywhere with her you're going to have to overstep the bounds a little. [/ QUOTE ] This is the abosulte truth here goofy, if she is a decent salesperson she probably expects some flirting and probably enjoys it. There is nothing that is going to turn her off quicker, than you being unconfident and unwilling to make the first move and put yourself out there.(My gf is in sales, and I've been involved in sales one way or the other for the last 5 yrs.) In other words, don't write the letter! Good luck, and try and keep the little streak that Cue and Kilillan have started, so we don't have to read the Emo thread for the next 2 months. |

kolo,
[ QUOTE ] variance: she said she's not a replacement for korean girl, and if I mention her again she's returning home. [/ QUOTE ] Do not talk about your "ex" when you're trying to get with a new girl. goof, I approve of the new couch, definitely the best of the bunch. I have no advice on how to pick up the sales girl since I specialize in drunken pickups. And thanks for the age comment, it made my day (yeah, I'm a vain bastard with a Peter Pan syndrome). |
