Variance difference in multitable tournaments 2vs10....
Hi all,
What I am asking is if variance goes up or down based on the number of tables in a multitable tournament? for ex.... playing a 30max 3 table sit&go or 20max 2 table sit&go VS a large scheduled multitable tournament of lets say 300-800 entrants. Which has a much lower variance in general a multitable sit&go of 20max 2 tables or large 1000max tournament? note:I am refering to regualr tournaments longhanded, none of that turbo ultra turbo garbage. Thank You |

The answer is pretty intuitive...I think you'll get it.

Re: Variance difference in multitable tournaments 2vs10....
In SNG's, when it gets down to the final 4 or so, it's pretty much a shove fest. Harrington's "first into the pot" comes into play here. When it gets shorthanded at the FT of a mtt, it's usually a little more disciplined. At least it's not a total shove-fest unless Annette_15 is at your table. But both scenarios are best played aggressively. Concerning the early stages of a mtt, it plays out very similarly to a sng.

Re-replying b/c Mack's post was not in any way relevant to your question.
Like I said, the answer is intuitive. Bigger field MTTs have more variance than smaller field MTTs or STTs. |
