Is it possible to beat 25NL?

If I'm reading this right, the rake is 5 cents per dollar in the pot on Pokerstars.

How does anyone possibly beat this rake? It's outrageously high and with the amount of people sticking around to deal out bad beats, I don't see how it's possible to beat.

Yes it is possible to beat. It is possible to beat for a high winrate. You probably have many many leaks if you can't beat 25NL.

this is actually a misconception. largely due to the rake, as well as the increasing # of halfway decent and more aggressive players, it's actually quite difficult to sustain a long term winrate > 3-4ptbb/100 in the current NL25 6max games on stars & full tilt.

of course stretches up to 30-40k hands at 10ptbb/100+ are still fairly common.

How's that. You asked if 25NL could be beaten. I said that it can for a high winrate. What did I miss?

No, move up to 1k nl where the rake is negligible.

Anyways, consider:
Not every hand is rake. People pfr and people fold maybe 40-60%. These pots are not raked.

Even if every hand is raked .05 - that's less than .01 per person per hand. This amounts to about $1/100 that you pay. You need to make 2ptbb/100 to break even I guess.

4 to 6pt/100 is doable over large samples at nl25.

You get fpp which count for something.

Play 10nl (worse rake) to get a feel, then play nl25.
Profit - move up - profit - repeat.

No it's not. I feel a prop bet. How much do you wanna bet that I or another player of my choosing can beat 25NL for 4.8+PTBB/100 hands over 100,000 hands?

The rake can be beaten and beaten well. Therefore if you aren't beating 25NL it is due to your play and not the rake. I didn't think every line had to be filled in. Sorry.
