Just turn the chat off if you're bothered.

It's really not a big deal.

It's not only the chat...It's how others play..Have you ever seen a CR video when one of there pros are "trying" to make a low stakes video and somebody know who they are??? The "friend" starts making a mockery out of the game and soon EVERYBODY at the table is just trying to make moves to be able to say I beat XXXXXX..Also players who play higher stakes will "step down" just to play with the "Big Time" pro...

C'mon get real!

Just because OP has a sn that resembles that of a high stakes pro it does NOT mean everybody is going to think it's the person in question ... at least not for more than a few hands, lol!

U really believe high limit regs are going to come and play with you at your $25 NL table because of that?

Stars says they don't want players changing names because of the expense it costs them to do so. I think it would be REALLY nice if Stars or other sites would let players change their names for a fee of say $25 or whatever. That way players could change names when they wanted, and Pokerstars wouldn't be burdened changing 5000 players names a day or whatever, they could even make a profit on players changing their names. Everyone would win in this situation.

I don't think it's anything to do with cost... I'd also be happy to pay $25 to change my screen name.

I'd pay a lot of money to change my screen name, but that's not the reason they won't let you change it.
