They should have to worry about that but the coldcalling, ultra-showdown monkey Bellagio 30 regulars will not worry about this. I would raise the flop, but only because I play so mechanically. I think the Dude's instinct to flat call and raise the turn is just right IMO.

You're right about putting the emphasis on "should." I realize that much of playing this hand depends on a lot of factors. But, FWIW:

This hand is virtually identical to the SSHE chapter "When the pot gets very big." In fact, hero's hand, in the book's example, is KK. Their advice (again, fwiw) was to call the flop bet when it came from your right, then raise the turn. They admitted that this "gave up" a little expectation on the flop for a much bigger edge on the turn.
