Default Brag: 119 point Scrabble turn.

I just started getting into Scrabble sorta seriously, about 2 months ago.

This game we already had 51 tiles out of the bag, and no "A" had been played. My opponent played a K, right next to the triple word score and I was dying to pick up an A to play something there (KA is the only two letter word starting with a K). I had ZURE on my rack, waiting for the elusive A for KA/AZURE. I replaced 3 tiles when I didn't have much to go on, but still no A. Then I played TIN/HENT and my 3 new tiles with AIT. I got excited and saw that I could play AZURE, when I quickly realized AZURITE was probably a word too. He played something that nobody cares about, leaving my KA/AZURITE 119 point bingo open. SHIP IT.

I won 395-314

55 for that, not bad.

also you scored 120, not 119.

what was your rack when you swapped 3? Your optimal play was prob to play off the Z there and then - playing AZURITE for 119 is sound tho with a Q in the bag still leaving the triple is likely to cost you. You play online at all? I'll give you a game if you fancy. i play at scrabulous

I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure the chronological order of my post was a bit off, and I probably picked up the Z when I swapped. Initially I just wanted A for something, then after the swap I wanted A for AZURE. I also play on Scrabulous (the picture is of a Scrabulous board).
