Default Democrat says expect online gambling bill Thursday

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (news, bio, voting record) on Wednesday said he will introduce a bill this week to lift a ban on online gambling.

When the bill is posted, call your Rep. and every name you can on the House Financial Services Committee.

I'd feel more confident if it was tacked on to some other bill. The "they hate us for our freedom" bill or something like that.

what does that accomplish/how does it help?

Legislators must listen to their constituents. Its how they keep their jobs. The more voters call up to encourage a particular vote the more likely that leglislator will be encouraged to vote that particular way, unless they hold strong views to the contrary.

probably doesn't help as much as it would if some gambling sites dropped campaign contributions on them.
