This is the spot where minraise is very powerful weapon - because you don't know what it means. Sometimes it means very weak hand to isolate shortie, sometimes big hand. And if you raise, you commit self but your opponent now can fold his weak hand, invested almost nothing but can build and win big pot with big hand.

Maybe I am crazy but lets use his own medicine against him - I would minraise to 32. Now, it his time to make difficult decision. Also this decision is much harder for him - he is OOP.

How crazy min-raising idea is?

If I 3bet m/r I'm not folding out much here. Even if he isolating with a weaker hand he's probably going to call out of stubborness. Taking that line, I'm probably shoving any blank turn...or maybe any turn at all. If he shoves over the 3bet I can be pretty sure I'm beaten with him m/r then 4betting AI. It does put him in an awkward spot if he's isolating.

At first I thought, man a crappy board a fold would work. But after I think about it I would shove flop. Why would he min raise with the nut straight? He could have either of the two bottom sets, but often I see this as AJ or KJ or any J and he is looking to isolate but fears the preflop raiser. Shove it baby.

I would just fold and not watch as UTG+1 takes the pot down with K,J. You're not in good shape against a board and action like this so just let it go.

Alright just making sure my fold wasn't too nitty. Although this result was odd to see.

Flop: ($16) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players)
<font color="red">SB bets $8</font>, <font color="red">UTG+1 raises to $16</font>, 2 folds

Results: $32 Pot ($1.60 Rake)
UTG+1 mucked and WON $30.40 (+$17.40 NET)

I guess fold is alright here. I was just thinking if I am the Utg+1 I would likely smooth any set or straight and let the pfr hang himself. The min raise just seems like he is trying to isolate by risking the least amount with J-10ish or something.

Its really to bad the SB donk didn't call here so we could see the results.
