Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana

I've never been to Caesar's Indiana. A guy I know wants to go there with a friend of his.

Can you recommend any hotels or motels nearby (in addition to the Caesar's hotel)? Also, your comments or experiences with them.

Also, do you have any comments regarding recent experiences trying to get a poker room rate at Caesar's?
