Default Mora out as Falcons head coach

http://nfl.com/teams/story/ATL/9901769

For some reason I think he would be a better college HC as opposed to the NFL

Sweet. Good to see Blank put his business hat on. Now, need someone who understands offense.

I was just going to go into the Green thread and post, "Who is the next coach out? I'm guessing Shell or Mora."

The players hate him, his teams collapse, and they just lost the Eagles JV squad. LOL @ Mora.

Time for the way back machine:

posted 4/22/06 link[ QUOTE ]
Atl is stuck with Vick for better or worse. I just heard some talking heads on ESPN the other night say that this year is going to be Vick's breakout year, since he's now had three years in the WCO. Of course they say this every year. So you really think any team wants a QB that will take 3-4 years for a mythical breakout year to occur?

Mora is going to get fired at the end of this year if Vick doesn't deliver yet again. They'll never get rid of Vick unless he asks for a trade or suffers a career ending injury.

[/ QUOTE ]

Called it 8 months ago.

And of course this means that the Vick apologists will get 1-2 more years or excuses "Vick has to adjust to a new coach, system, offensive coordinator, etc." It's NEVER Vick's fault for some reason. What a mess of an organization and team.

Q: Wasn't this team one good receiver away from the Super Bowl this year??

I don't care about Vick either way, but I hope the next ATL coach builds the offense gameplan around Mike's skillset instead of trying to fit Vick's square into a round hole.

In a day with a ton of sports news, this was by far the least surprising. Any chance he gets the Bama job if Saban doesn't?

None. Mora is going to Washington after the season when they fire Willingham.
