Villian is 16/10/5. Previously he raised my bet of 150 to 450 on a Qx9s8s board after calling my prf in a 3 way pot then folded to a shove (2k effective). I've 3 bet him once-twice before this and he folded preflop. He seems new to the 10/20 games the past few days.

I check behind on the flop as I feel his calling range is largely mid pairs and this is the best way to maximize value. On the river I feel I'm beat most of the time but I also caught him previously bluffing and I have underrepped my hand a lot which makes me wonder if im good 1/3rd of the time. Plus i hate folding

Maybe, there is a good chance he folds this preflop though.

define 'good chance'. As described I think he could easily be calling a reraise with AJs, bet turn and figure he must bet river so he just opts to push.

However I do agree that your not necessarily under repped(but you are to the point that if he does have AJ he will be pushin this riv sometimes IMO), so this is close, but i hate folding too so i prob call.
