Re: ONE MONTH OF NL POKER IN FLORIDA
I'm up about $550 at 1/2 over about 30 hours of play. It's totally not worth my time compared to online but I get a rush playing live.

Re: ONE MONTH OF NL POKER IN FLORIDA
How was anyone counting on "getting rich" playing live, NL poker in Florida? Is rich the minimum wage plus $1 in Florida?

Re: ONE MONTH OF NL POKER IN FLORIDA
at first they were spreading much higher due to an interpretation of the badly written legislation. This continued until they were forced to stop.
I agree that thoughts of getting rich at 1/2 NL are pretty ridiculous no matter how bad the opponents. |

They started it yesterday. It pretty much sucks if you play tight. I have only played twice there: +297 (4 hours) +139 (3 hours) The play is basically what people said. 2-3 players that suck, 2-3 players that just want to gamble and 2-3 players that know what they are doing. |

They didn't have as many players, and their players were not terrible, but you often needed to have a hand to take down a pot. Anybody know if the seminole bingo is time charge or rake at this point? |

That blows, so they get what 12 hands out so youre paying $.50
a hand? Too bad people aren't willing to [censored] walk out on that [censored] and demand better. |

Re: ONE MONTH OF NL POKER IN FLORIDA
Finally made it to the Ebro track near Panama City.
Pretty nice and clean poker-room actually. Nice and big. 21 tables. Plenty of space. Not bad at all. Fairly well run as far as I could tell. Most dealers were actually pretty decent. A few minor things were allowed to slide like little string-bet infractions that definitely would have been disallowed by almost any Tunica dealer. Perhaps their policy is that a player has to call them on it. I didn't ask. The rake is a whopping 10% up to $5 max plus $1 for BBJ or high-hand or whatever it is they are running up there. Dealers ain't doing too shabby. $2 tips seemed standard and I felt like a nitty-dweeb giving just my regular $1 tip. Saw a few $5 tips and even one $10 tip on a big pot. Players weren't quite as bad as I expected but still were generally pretty sucky. A notch or two worse than the typical 1/2 or 1/3 NL Tunica crowd which is still really saying something. A few hands that were limped by all 8 or 9 players preflop. Only once or twice were the blinds stolen PF. Occasional dumb bluffs mixed with unusually passive post-flop calling-stations. I didn't even think my table was a very good one and the rake definitely sucks but these games are ultra-profitable...relative to the stakes of course. Made $108 in 2+ hours. Not bad. Couple lucky hands in there. I get 54s in the BB. 7 or 8 players to the flop. A54. I pot it and a newish player to the table who was probably tilting from a beat 2 or 3 hands ago pushes all-in for the rest of his short-ish stack. I call. He limped with 23o from MP and flopped the nuts but just as he predicted, I indeed would catch a 5 to suck-out on him. Pretty sure that for most players any ace or likely any king is playable. Enjoyed my experience in their fairly nice room and will definitely be returning when I feel like getting away from the computer and killing a couple hours. |
