.5/1 top pair on 3-flush flop

Re: .5/1 top pair on 3-flush flop
I think it's better to just call the flop and raise a safe-looking turn, but in any case, your line is at least ok. Calling down here is definitely fine, I think.
Edit: Well, what does he limp with UTG? Probably some suited face cards? PP? Does he raise here with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]? or A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]? So, ... I don't know... |

Re: .5/1 top pair on 3-flush flop
crappy situation since there are basically no safe turn cards to hope for on the flop. c/c flop and you still don't know anything when UTG bets turn. This looks like one of these situations where you simply have to lay down TPTK. I don't know if it's +EV to go onto a call down trip on this flop.
Turn card helps because now you got 4 outs to beat a flush but pot odds alone doesn't justify calling so it boils down to if you think TPTK is good enough times on the river to make up for that. |

Opp thinks quite a long time and finally bets. I've noticed, it's tell player might be holding a good hand, but some reason I never trust it. [/ QUOTE ] Or, he's scared that you're slowplaying a made flush and is going for a c/r on the turn. |

The time that he has a flush and is scared of a higher one are so rare, that I don't think anyone will fear that if the board doesn't bring a fourth [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Any non-heart is a safe card on the turn. |

Re: .5/1 top pair on 3-flush flop
i 3bet the flop OOP against an aggressive opponent. folding TPTK here would be a significant mistake.
