I was wondering what you would do in this hand if omni had folded. You can't obv push and I guess raising isn't possible.

[/ QUOTE ]

Probably fold, but raising to 450/500 isn't bad at all.

Even if BB isn't folding anything preflop (he might fold bottom 20%)?

What range did you put villain on? He has well over 18 BB and there are roughly some 100 chips in the pot.
If you had raised, given you better odds, but the limp-over-shove is what is confusing me.

[/ QUOTE ]

When people shove like this, it's very very very unlikely they have a hand that beats you. If he has AK-AJ I'm glad to get it in with him. Are we worried about JJ+? I'm not. JJ+ would almost certainly raise to 150 here. I just don't see him shoving 18BB with a hand that has us beat.

Could you give a reasoning for completing versus folding / raising here.
and thanks a lot for the effort

[/ QUOTE ]

I think raising is horrible, OOP vs. an EP limp (even from this guy). I think folding is a little weak because we have A9, which is decent. We're getting 5:1 on the call, and if I flop top pair A I'm check/calling the flop to keep the pot small. As tight as I am, I can't justify folding A9o from the SB here.

[ QUOTE ]

edit:
the KQo minraise thing discussed here, why don't you contibet that flop?

[/ QUOTE ]

People don't fold to Cbets on the flop in SNGs nearly as much as they should. Basically, they will pay you off whenever you have something, especially at this level. I ended up not making a hand against Bige the entire tournament (besides the 2nd level QQ hand), which is why I never doubled up against him. If I had made top pair against him I'd have gotten it all in confidently.

I think he'll fold more than 20%, but not a whole lot more. I mean the main reason I would raise here is so I could play a HU pot against Bige. If I flop nothing he'll probably check to me, then I can see the turn for free. If I flop any pair I'd bet the hell out of it and expect to get paid off by a worse hand.

People's ranges are usually not wide enough to justify calling 7.5BB with K8s. I know it's a King, and I know it's suited, but this is the $16s. People are so loose passive you can just run them over all day. It's also the first hand of HU so I'm not sure how he plays. They have Ax here so much and I'm giving up the advantage I have over him by knowing how to push, and if he's aggressive, how to call.

Ok the 33 might have been a bit overboard just because I had >4k in chips. But obviously I'm gonna look retarded when he instacalls KJ on that board. Change his hand to AT/66 and I'm a genius .
