Default My queens get re-raised

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $52.80
BB: $50.40
UTG: $57.15
MP: $46.35
CO: $52.05
Hero (BTN): $55.70

Reads: Villain is 20/14/oo over 80 hands.

He sees me as a positional and active player.

MP is a loose/passive fish.

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q Q (6 Players)
UTG folds, MP calls $0.50, CO folds, Hero raises to $2.50, SB folds, BB raises to $8.25, MP folds,

What is optimal here?

I think the very worse that he is going to show up with here is going to be a hand like AK. Really if he seems to understand position he is not going to be three betting oop with a hand that you likely have dominated. Only hands you have crushed that are in his range is going to be TT and JJ IMO.

I think the best line is to call the raise and see a flop. If the flop comes with an ace or king I will fold if he cbets, if the flop is low cards I will call a bet on the flop and revalute the turn, but not willing to go broke with the hand without some more information.

i would also call. one thing helping you is that you have an extra large chance of stacking villain if you should make a set.

Call, play Pokah! This is a much more interesting decision when OOP.

BB's 3popping range looks bigger than your typical NL50 AK QQ+ given your description of him and the MP limp and your position. QQ is ahead of his range and you've got position, go ahead and call.

OK, I think we all agree call is optimal.

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q Q (6 Players)
UTG folds, MP calls $0.50, CO folds, Hero raises to $2.50, SB folds, BB raises to $8.25, MP folds, Hero calls $5.75

Flop: ($17.25) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 (2 Players)
BB bets $10.00

What now? fwiw villain has a cbet rate of 76%

I would just call and see if he fires again.

I'd probably push this and go broke against AA/KK/JJ. It's a flop without an A or K. Isn't that what we hoped for preflop (besides a set)?

pf i think calling is okay.

flop i would typically call one street and see what he does on the turn. if a turn bet = KK/AA and almost always those two hands, then you can dump. but if you don't have this read then i would shove the turn/sometimes the flop.

I hate these situations and don't know how to handle them myself. I feel I give up, but still call hoping to flop a Q most of the time.

Thanks, orange for shedding some light on thism, being a well respected poster here.

How would you handle this OOP?

I still think a flat call on the flop is going to be the best play. If you raise you are pot commitied, and this isnt a spot I like to go broke in still.

The flop is relatively dry, and I feel that he is likely to shut down if call the flop and will check the turn behind you. He is going to know that you almost never float AK in that position, and on such a dry flop call will likely shut down any hand that you beat.

My plan on the turn is any blank card that comes off I will bet about 25 into the pot if he checks it to me. If an A or K comes off, or he fires again I will fold the hand. If the turn blanks and I bet then he c/r all in I will have a very tough descion as to whether or not I am ahead enough to call. Although I have contributed almost half my stack, I would still be inclinded to fold the hand if he shoves.
