WheelingDealer, did you have the pleasure of dealing the O8 game Sat night (well, into Sunday morning)?

anything going on in charles town? or closer to VA? thanks if anyone knows anything,

Table games were voted down in the county (Jefferson?) where Charlestown resides. They can't be voted on again there until June, 2009; so we've got a while to wait yet.

I played 1/2NL Sat. night until 5am Sunday morning. I was at the next table over from the guy who tried to cheat. Some decent players but also quite a few >-\-> Overall won around 2k at the table.

Hooligan, I have played 2/4 on three different week nights. I only have a couple hours at night to play - usually like 2 1/2. I was there tonight with a cleveland browns fleece on. That 2/4 game is totally beatable. It is some of the worst card playing I have ever seen. I only have about 7 1/2 hours in playing it so far but I like what I see. PM me if you don't want to give your identity on the board.

Good luck

Okay just a few questions if anyone knows about wheeling island.

1. Any idea if they are going to spread Mixed Games in the future. I'm aware that the dealers are fairly green at this point, but after some experiance maybe half holdem/half omaha or hopefully HORSE?

2. What exactly does the players card do? Do you get comps similar to Vegas?

3. Played my first session of NLHE today and made a small score of $45. How rough is the competiton usually at $1/$2 and $2/$5? I did find that today was tougher than Vegas, but is that the norm?

4. I've only been able to play omaha 8/b on the weekends. Anyone know if that's usually when it's played or is it more often than that?

Thanks.

1) Thank your lucky stars they deal Stud and Omaha at all.

2) You'll prolly get a free sandwich now and again.

3) Was that a weekday or a weekend? 'Table change!'

4) I called this past Sunday, and there was a waiting list of two players for the O8 games. You need to find 7 O8 playing friends to start a table if you want to play in the middle of the week.

1. Please don't ask them for mixed games until the dealers can reliably push the pot to the winner, and identify when kickers play and when they don't.

2. TBD on player's card. Just keep accumulating, someday you'll get something.

3. It's pretty interesting. At both Mountaineer and Wheeling, I've encountered tables filled with new-born lambs, and tables filled with skilled, experienced players from all the nearby cities. Table selection is really huge right now.

4. No idea; Mountaineer has Omaha/8 going during the week, and also some stud. Wheeling is smaller though.

I went down to Wheeling Island tonight. It was my dad's birthday and he wanted to play slots (lol) and I figured I'd play whatever game they had going.

We got there pretty early (5:30-6ish) and went to the Pointe or whatever it is. I must say it was actually pretty good. I got some surf and turf and I was impressed (for a steakhouse in a crappy West Virginia casino).

I went to the poker room and was 3rd on the 5-10NL list. It took about 2 hours for me to get to the table because it was the only 5-10 game running and if I played 1/2 or 2/5 I'd probably shove blind preflop out of boredom and gouge my eyes out because of the terrible play.

While I was waiting, I went and found my dad playing slots. I put $10 in the machine next to him and ran it up to $120 or so. He was pretty jealous--when I took him and my mother to the Bahamas for PCA my mom and I both won like $200 and $400 respectively at video poker while he played like the entire vacation and didn't win anything. Anyways, I gave him my $120 voucher and told him to go nuts with it. Surprisingly, he did and I lost my $120. God damnit dad you're the biggest nit ever.

I eventually got to play and here was the table setup:

Seat 1- A high board I BLUFF AND SHOW A 2! OH SNAP!
Seat 2- Really incredible internet pro who plays perfectly.
Seat 3- OESD = Nuts I'M ALL IN HCHCAHCAHCAHC
Seat 4- OMFG I FOLD EVERY HAND YOU'RE ALL SO SLOW GIMME ACES PLZZZZZ
Seat 5- I'll call you down with no pair, PAL. YER DEAD.
Seat 6- 90% VPIP, 89% PFR, 0% look at cards preflop (serious)
Seat 7- Okkkkk finneeee I'll calllllll
Seat 8- TIGHT! HORSE RACES LOL!
Seat 9- TIGHT!
Seat 10- Honestly don't even remember what he looked like because I don't think he played a hand in 3 hours.

Overall the game was really soft. The dealers weren't very bad at all but the floor seems kinda like a bunch of boneheads.
