I think I need to change something on my heads up play. With equal stacks and blinds at t600, I try to play poker and limp too much from the button. I often get raised. Should I limp/reraise with stronger holdings, shove marginal holdings and fold bad cards?

Is trying to see a flop better with blinds at t400?

[/ QUOTE ]

At bb600 you should be in push fold mode. Limping should be reserved for trapping an aggressive opponent if you have a monster.

If you shoved from the sb every singe time at bb600 HU, you wouldn't be playing far from optimally.

Very nice advice Wickss , I played like this in 6.50 with a lot of success.
The hand of TT is a great to Stop and go , raise 2.5bb and push on flop . Fold to a Raise allin preflop thought.

[/ QUOTE ]

no way you're folding TT pf HU

I went to Wickss plo tables to sweat him and he ignored me . Wickss is starting to think he is too good for the common man. For the non-pro.

LOL I just put a note on a player in PLO that said "Plays like me."

Wicks, in that case, you should practice better game selection and not sit with such talented pros.

This seems like a bad shove for my stack size. What do you all think?

[/ QUOTE ]

As a general rule of thumb, with a made hand you want to limit a hand to three cards (small and medium pocket pairs). For further information on this idea, read Greg Raymer's post in the MTT Anthology on Stop-n-Go's. With a drawing hand (non pair) you would like to see all five cards. An overshove is not ideal until antes kick in.

In review: made hands--> 3 cards, drawing hands --> 5 cards, overshove not ideal until antes.

In this case an overshove with a made hand is a huge error.

Like I said, unless the SB is a muppet, he's shoving ATC vs. you here. Push or fold.
