Default Bellagio 10-20NL

I plan on being back in Vegas the first weekend in January after the New Years rush. I plan on playing my normal 5/10 game at B and Wynn and would like to take a shot at 10/20 at B if I run decent.

Considering the 10/20 game is uncapped, what are the average stack sizes? How does it compare to Wynn's 5/10 game if it plays deep? (I guess the Wynn has 10/20 as well but I'd doubt they'd spread it during that weekend)

I got 4 hours to kill at work, so let's discuss. ;-)

When Wynn spreads the 10/25 game it usually is on the weekend, holiday, big-a$$ convention, etc. The local nits/pros only play when the tourists are in town. The Bellagio game plays with minimum 5K (usually) to 15-20K on the higher end. depends what day, time (day or late evening) and who is in the game. Local pro, Jimmy, when he is in, his stack is usually in the 15k+ range. I have found that most times, the Bellagio's 10/20 runs bigger than Wynn's 5/10, and even their 10/25. Of course all of this is dependent on a host of factors, but this is what I have found on my twice monthly visits over the last few years. Keep in mind, settting 4 hours as a time to play 10/20 is probably not a good idea. Such a time limit is better suited to the smaller game. It may take a while to get from a must move at B to the main game, and placing an arbitrary limit on play might be detrimental. Just my $ .02

I believe his 4 hour comment wasn't about the length he plans on playing it, but that he has 4 hours at work left today, so he needs something to fill his Friday (one of the reasons I am replying!)

Yeah, I got a few hours left here. If I have less than 4 hours to play then I just screw around at a 2-5 game anyways.

It's amusing, I've asked about the 10-20 game before at B and I've gotten a different response every time about it. I guess I could always just go and sit down and see whats up when I'm there, I just don't want to look like a fool if I sit down with a ultra short stack. Plus I know those uncapped games can play differently based on who's sitting down with what.

It's a hit-or-miss game from my limited experience. It usually plays fairly deep (5K+ stacks are common) but who cares if you buy in short? Better to buy in kind of short and see how it's going that day and then add on later if you want to play deeper against that day's lineup than to buy in deep and find yourself in over your head with no way to play an easier (i.e. shorter) stack.

Who cares about "looking like a fool?" Presumably you are playing to make money...if everyone else has $20k and you sit down with $2k in many cases you will be in great shape. If the money is a big deal, double up and leave.

Good point, guess you're looking at it half full while I'm looking at it half empty.

if you're coming to vegas (and the wynn) twice a month, how do you not know that the wynn hasn't spread a 10-25 for the better part of 2007? it's been 10-20 for a long time.

anyway, bellagio games >>>>> wynn games. waaaaay better, not close. wynn has mega-nits sitting with 30k cash on the table but it's just for show, it never sees action (unless the nit has a straight flush vs quads or something), whereas some of the deep stacks at bellagio actually splash around with their chips.

also, to the op, buying in short-ish is fine if you're taking a shot. just realize that you don't have room to make moves, you gotta have the goods when you put it in. cuz guys like jimmy (and even me) will likely look you up with any pair if you're only playing 1k or so.

My bad. I play a lot of different casinos and I don't really commit to memory whether it is 10/20 or 10/25. They play the same. As I said, I play mostly at Bellagio, since the bigger games don't go that often at Wynn. I prefer the floor at Wynn, whereas, Carmen, AJ, Scott will get you comps, and treat you with a great deal of respect. Even though I only come up 2 x month, they all remember my name, game, preferred seat, etc. It's nice to be appreciated. You have to kill at B to get the time of day.
