Yeah, my classes got canceled at the U of M tonight. So nice.

Very nice, they rarely cancel classes!

If anyone has to drive be careful, I just got home. Plows are not keeping up.

I just drove to the liquor store to get booze, visibility was about 10 feet, 50 mph wind gusts and I saw and heard thunder and lightning. I've never seen lightning during a snow storm.

I'm still at work in minneapolis.
Will be driving to Lakeville within the hour.
Over/under on me making it home alive?

CrazyEyez

I assume you are taking 35 home, it appears to have been plowed recently, obviously traffic isn't an issue. I'd say you stand a pretty damn good chance of making it home alive

My boss called at 3pm and told us work was off - fortunately, I left my laptop at work and remote access wasn't set up yet or else I'd have been working from home

shoveld, snowraked, and scraped at 9am and here 9 hrs later it's worse then ever - got enough cleared so I can do it again in the am - ay carumba -

when MY work gets canceled, it's bad - first time in 5 yrs they did it and I hear the freeways are closing -

this is one of the bad, bad ones, even for MN - ay carumba -

I've shoveled 4 times so far today, at least 4 inches every time. The snowplow got stuck in my alley, the driving is that bad.

The worst part, I was downsized on Valentines day, so I have no work to not go to tomorrow.

I just don't know how someone can be an intelligent adult and live in such places. I rather pay a little more in another state and avoid snow altogether.

if snow were alive, I'd have it killed -

by burying it alive in a shallow grave in the desert and letting it suffocate -

I'm with you WT.
I shoveled last night, and again this morning. It took me longer to shovel this morning than to get to work (from north end of lakeville to minneapolis).

By my calculations I easily shoveled >1 ton of snow.

I don't have a good counter-argument, except to say that MN almost never gets more than a few inches of snow at a time. It just gets mother [censored] cold and lasts for 5 months. Yeah I'm feeling pretty stupid for living here right now.
