I chose a ring with a greater depth to the thickness of the band and a smaller width of band, about as thick as deep- a curved rounded inside called a comfort band. So- the resulting edge is more rounded and comfortable. Have never taken it off.

I never take it off. I kinda bent it a little bit when I dropped a brick on it while building a brick patio (it's slightly squished) and it's very difficult. ON the plus side, it's actually more comfortable this way (but it doesn't spin, it only fits one way).

However, back when I used to play golf, I used to take it off because it messed with my grip.

I used to take it off when I played basketball because of the urban legend about someone getting theirs caught on the net and ripping their finger off.

This happened to me once with my senior ring in high school. My finger didnt come off but if the ring hadnt been a little too big it would have. It ripped a huge gash all the way around my finger and the ring popped off. That was the last time I wore my senior ring.

As for my wedding ring, I almost never take it off.

This was the most suprising thing I found about wearing the ring. I swear it is afrodisiac.

i go sometimes a week without wearing mine. i have probably never worn it more than 4 hours str8 since the honeymoon. But i have neevr wore one piece of jewerly since we started dating either and when we went to pick it out i told her i would probably never wear it.

I would suggest you tan with it on, that way there is a mark, so when you dont wear it the line is atleast visable. might give her some comfort.

congrats by the way.

my dad has probably never taken his off and showed me his finger, it looked deformed, and he was proud of it.

To sleep, shower, do dishes, for sex, and for any type of work involving tools or ladders. BTW, losing a finger when a ring gets caught on something is not an urban legend. I actually settled a workers compensation case where the guy lost his finger getting off a ladder, his ring got hung up on something, and popped the finger clean off.

I lost my ring while white water rafting about 9 months ago and haven't replaced it yet. good tip for keeping your wedding ring: if you have a ring that fits loosely, keep in mind your fingers shrink a little when they are in cold water and your ring can fall off.

Not an urban legend. I know a guy that it happened to.

In many machinery jobs that involve pressing the only rings you're allowed to wear are titanium rings... I stopped wearing a titanium ring when I learned they generally have to amputate your finger to remove it in emergency rooms because few hospitals have the necessary equipment to cut one.
