Sabermetric book recommendations?
Title pretty much says it all.
I have a very basic understand of sabermetric concepts (let's say a 3 on a scale of 10) and would like to learn more, mostly so I can just follow conversations and debates on it. I don't intend to become a stats freak myself -- I like to sit back and just enjoy the games. Searching on here turned up The Book and Baseball Between the Numbers (the latter I already had on my list from previous recommendations). Also on my list is the Bill James Abstract. Anything else I should be looking at right now? Are any of the 3 I listed repetative and unnecessary if I have the others? Thanks! |

Re: Sabermetric book recommendations?
New Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract, the Book, and BBTN will get you pretty much everywhere. Although to be honest the Abstract isn't really "sabermetric" in the sense of looking at things number-wise, but it's just a different way of looking at things.
