Out in 70th. If I didn't play like a donkey I'd have made the money

Whew, I played like a donkey and made the money. Just busted out 39th which was good for a $50 profit. On one hand, it's better than losing 1k but on another I'd have made more washing floors at Mcdonald's. I ended up at Hass's table and watched him win a huge pot with AK vs JK to put him at about 150k in chips before I left.

I had a horrible run of cards the first few rounds...big starting hands that couldn't seem to hit flops. The whole tournament I seemed to be a medium or short stack and could never quite break through.

I busted out after pushing all-in UTG with A5. I had pushed all-in the hand before with an M of 2.5 and picked up the blinds and antes which put my M at 3.5 I figured the hand was strong enough to push in that spot, but maybe it was a bit of a loose push. If the payouts had been a little flatter, I may not have made that move, opting to try and move into the next bracket instead, but it was so top-heavy that I felt it was the right move.

I busted in 47th, got allin preflop with AK vs 99 and JJ and the flop was three hearts, I had the Ace of hearts and missed. Pretty sick waste of a day.

Looks like the tourney has enough play to have the good players rise to the top. Two people here cashed, one got close, and Hass is still in with 20 left. He has about 230k. 450 players with 10,000 starting stack makes the average 225k. And Hass is also at the better of the two players. The two high limit regulars (brown chip games) are at the other table. But he still needs to finish above 10 other people to make any type of money at all, since 11th place is a measely $1500. Good luck Hass!!!

i was almost the 1st person out of the tourney when my 8 6 went AI on the 6 8 10 flop vs A A. turn 3, river 3 left with me just about 1k behind... giving me just enough time to let about 10 players bust in front of me.

I do think the structure of the tournament as far as the rounds and blinds went was good. My only complaint would be the break intervals. After the first break, it was 3 45-minute rounds between each break, that was 20 mins. I would rather have had 1-1.5 hours of playing with a 10 min break in between. Also, with play starting at 9am and only just finishing now, having a longer break at some point for a meal would have been welcome. I ended up eating at the table but that's kind of annoying to have to do since I have to shift my focus away from the action.

I've got to make one brag about a play. I can't quite remember what the blinds were at the time but with about 150 players left, I'd made a standard opening raise of 3x BB from UTG+2 with 55. A big stack called from the button. Flop came K93 with two hearts. I made a continuation half-pot sized bet which he raised. I realized that my small bet on a suited board probably looked suspicious and otherwise, something about his raise just felt fishy. After contemplating, I went over-the-top all-in and he called(was pot committed.) He showed AQ (not hearts) and my fives held up to win the pot. Not sure if this was a brilliant move or a stupid one but it worked out.

Well I just got home. Played for 12 hours. Made the final 20. My chip count is 266,500. I didn't stick around for long after the tournament but I think that puts me in about 18-14th in chips, maybe a little higher. I got really lucky on 2 hands, but other than that I got my money in good everyother time tonight. Like I have said in this thread I'm not much of a tournament player. I did have Aces 4 times in the 12 hours and never lost, 2 of which I only won the blinds.

The structure was as good as you can expect for an event in Arizona. The payout could be a little flatter, but If I win I will love it.

I do have some of the high limit players left to play with, and one 2007 bracelet winner. I'm going to have to run pretty good to come out on top, but it has been fun and a good change from playing 20/40 everynight.

Wish me luck.
