timing tells
i've noticed when people call a raise then quick check heads up they usually don't have much. here's kind of a lame example.
villain is tight 12.9/9 Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $99 BB: $267 UTG: $37.90 MP: $81 Hero (CO): $199.75 BTN: $98.50 Preflop: Hero is dealt 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players) 2 folds, Hero raises to $3.50, 2 folds, BB calls $2.50 Flop: ($7.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $6, BB folds Uncalled bet of $6 returned to Hero Pot Size: $7.50 ($0.35 Rake) he quick checks and i auto bet here. if he thinks for a little bit then checks i might check behind or bet depending on how i read the timing of his check (sometimes they think and check cause they're weak and sometimes cause they're thinking about c/ring) another tell: when you three bet an average player say from the c/o pf and he thinks for a while before calling your three bet, he's usually strong and is check/shoving a lot of flops. feel free to add any tells you've come across or comment on these, halleluja. |

Re: timing tells
this thread could have some potential
about the quick check: in general it just indicates he has a planned action. this COULD be c/f, but c/c is not uncommon either. it's almost never c/r, though |

Re: timing tells
When someone insta-calls my flop bet, I often double barrel no matter my hand, as it often indicates a weak hand like TP no kicker or middle pair.
Though I think most people know this already. |

Re: timing tells
yeah if they have a big hand they usually take some time either because they're thinking about what to do or b/c they're faking weakness like oh i don't know what to do.
the snap call seems like it's usually weakness though sometimes they get stubborn and make up their minds that their calling you down with a weak made hand . . like if you're playing laggy. good one. |

Re: timing tells
This guy thought for an abnormally long amount of time before checking the flop, then led the turn pretty quickly

Re: timing tells
what about multitabling...can deceive you sometimes if a player is involved in more than one hand...but yes a quick call is almost always a medium strength hand...i really notice it when a player leads and I raise and he calls very quickly...the turn is usually good for a big bet

Re: timing tells
When a good aggro TAG thinks awhile before calling my 3bet, especially in position, I usually think he's calling light and resteal shoving the flop with lots of draws.

Re: timing tells
im annoyed that i cant make decisions as fast as i realize what i want to do because i know some guy on the other end is gonna do _____ if i decide too fast.
turns the game to levelling with timing of clicking a button even tho im playing multiple tables and not levelling based on image and cards!!! |
