If you like MMOs, check out 9Dragons. It's a multiplayer online game where you fight using martial arts (I'm a ninja, bitch!).

It's currently in closed beta for US and UK players but the UK closed beta is easiest to get into.

Both the US and UK versions should be going to open beta (everyone can play) sometime in January.

The US version is going to be free to play once it's released. No cost for the game and no monthly fees. The game will be supported by an "item mall" if you wish to buy some items.

RTS: Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes, Medieval 2
MMORPG: World of Warcraft
FPS: lots of good ones out there, half life 2, prey, fear, COD 2

Sure there are games that I like more then these, but these are all recent (Little big adventure 2: Twinsen's Odyssey, dungeon keeper 2, max payne, total annihilation are all games that I enjoyed more but are outdated now.)

But do yourself a favor and also get a xbox 360/hdtv and play some Gears of War.

If you like new games, Medieval 2 Total War is a game for you if you like big battles and so. For shooters, I'd say Fear and Half Life 2 (which has a newly released Episode 1 expansion).

If you enjoy online multiplayer FPS's the new battlefield 2142 is very good.
