What does the turn insta-check mean to you?

Hmm I admire your postings Mad_Genius1 but could you elaborate on why 25k is the least you would call ? I mean is a hand like AT completely out of his range (light 3bet pf cb flop, give up then value bet to milk smaller PP)? What if he has air/busted fd á la AcKc and bet's 27k+ is this an easy fold then ? Just want to understand your thought process.. is DD kind of a player who wouldn't bet 4/5 pot or bigger on the river as a bluff or a thin value bet? Might I miss important information? Thanks for educating the semi-fish..

Jman could you reveal the ending ?

That'll probably follow after adequate discussion on the hand. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I like a river bet. I'm surprised at the flop c/c though, I assumed the game would be aggro enough to make it a pretty clear c/r.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, the whole idea with the preflop call was to keep the pot under control. So c/r'ing the flop doesn't really fit in well with that plan.

As played, I'd also bet the river if I thought Dickens would have the stones to call me light. I could also take the more dangerous route by blocking the river (in the tune of 10k's) and snap calling if he pushes... I havent played against him, but I'd only expect to see a non-bluff push with AA and a top set.

That said, I think he showes up with QQ pretty often here and just calls the blocker.

Oooooorrr... maybe I'm underestimating him.

EDIT: Oh yea, 3-handed. Betting near the pot wouldn't be bad either.

with this board ak aq aj double barrell all day so his insta check means he has something else. lloks like a pp, he will def. bet the river with a pp so c/c is best

So it seems like given preflop + flop action, a 234 flop and blank turn that goes check/check

a) he might think you have Ax and came along on the flop with your gutter + overs
b) he might have Ax

So:

1) Do you think he will pay off a bet with Ax on the river?
2) Do you think he'll try to push you off Ax with a bet on the river?
