Default 50nl: quick preflop spot with TT

Villian is 40/13/1
I dont really have any reads on him yet

Do we call his 4 bet for set value or just fold it here?

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $15.70
Hero (BB): $149.80
UTG: $34.95
MP: $41.65
CO: $77.15
BTN: $47.60

Preflop: Hero is dealt T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players)
3 folds, BTN raises to $1.50, SB calls $1.25, Hero raises to $5.00, BTN raises to $8.50, SB folds, Hero ?

You can't call for set value, really. He has 37 left and you have 3.5 to call. You need to stack him every time if you hit your set. The $6.5 in the pot already might make a call slightly break even, but only if you at least almost stack him every time. Not a great predicament. And he has position on you. I think I let this one go. He doesn't seem to be too aggro preflop so this mini-reraise is certainly a huge deal for him. He has AA,KK here a lot.

???

Snap call.

Pot is $14.75 and hero needs to call $3.5 more. BTN has $39 more that we can potentially win. Getting 4:1 immediate odds and even better implied odds means that I'd instantly call here even if BTN showed me AA.

bored - you would want villian to have AA here. You don't want him to have AK.

Call for immediate odds of 4 to 1, and implied odds as villain will not slow down on most flops here. Call even if you knew villain had AA or KK, play for set value.

Carl

4.3:1 on the call with 11:1 vs his stack... looks like a solid call to me.

If we know he is solid is the 3-bet from the BB still okay?
