Ok I have all the answers here. Homegame is fine, mix game at Sycuan is even better. Sean call me whenever we'll figure it out. Stinkypete, if you want to come play a nice juicy live mix game I will spot you cash. Sean, you are doing a terrible job of keeping your private [censored] private

Just suffered the big loss of my life and after 1100 hours of live play making less than 5/8 bb per hour and I want to take a nice giant dump in the toilet, turn off the water, and give my head a good soak.

Oh well, hey, at least 1100 hours doesn't mean anything except that a) I suck hard and b) failing at internet poker wasn't an accident, it was because I suck hard. Oh well, good thing I won't be getting a Ph.D. or doing anything productive with my life, at least the internet porn 'hos will be wellfed.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, death to all Native Americans.

PJ your dead money is welcome but we are trying to get a big mix game going not a homegame

Bugstud even though you run like crap live you are too good to come and play. There is a good chance you are a bigger favorite than me in the game and I can't have that.

I just finished possibly the funnest session of poker in my life. So fun in fact that I will actually use punctuation in my posts for the first time in a while. This is gonna be longish.

So I leave Santa Barbara at some point and eventually get to Ocean's 11. Board for 40 and 10/10 NL is suuuuuuuper long so I sit in a 20 with the intent of getting completely wasted. While trying to accomplish this Jeff B plays a hand really well against me, in fact it might be the first well played hand I've seen in like a month (completely serious). He had nut flush on a 933A turn and just called my turn raise and donked blank river. I had a lower flush and confusedly called river. I most certainly would have folded to a turn 3bet or a river c/r, he played his hand perfectly against my entire range imo and put himself in a spot to win the max and lose the min. I played another hand later against him where I raised button with 86o he called bb and c/r QQ3r flop, I 3 he 4 I 5 and he c/f turn and naturally I show because I'm a tool.

So eventually I get a seat in a 10/10 NL which is what I came to play and I die a little inside when they do last call for alcohol at 11:15 or 11:30 or whatever. I totally forget last call was so early. I have only had like 3 drinks in my first hour at the casino and am not even remotely close to being in a state where it is not safe to drive home. All was not right with the world, but things were quickly rectified as I see Roc on the call in list. For those not aware, Roc has been playing nosebleed at Commerce the past few weeks and seeing his name on the board for Ocean's means BUSTO 100% guaranteed. So of course I call him and ask him what the deal is and tell him there's plenty of seats in 10/10 NL. He eventually gets to Oceans and sits in the game.

The game quickly becomes short and then HU between me and Roc. I am already super pumped up about this because this is the clash of the two biggest egos in the casino. Normally it would just be poker ego but now it's personal/life ego as well, which makes it just that much better. We bump the game from 10/10 to 10/20 because "having the same blinds HU is retarded" as I told the floor guy. Roc plays super exploitably in NL and because I have played more hours of poker with Roc than any other single person in probably more than a dozen games I was pretty confident it would not end well for him. We play for a while with me chipping away at him while needling him about various life/poker stuff, which was made all the sweeter by what happened to be on TV. Unfortunately we get into a spot where I have QT and he has AT after I checked a T75 two spade flop and we put all the money in on the offsuit 4 turn about 1300-1500 deep. I had set this up pretty much the whole match with constant flop check behinds so I'm absolutely sure that getting it in after he 3bet shoves on the turn is EXTREMELY profitable for me. He coolers me again with AK vs my As9x on Qs3s9xKsAx after turn checks through and I c/r the A river because that once again is the right play to maximize value against his range. The result once he finally gets a seat in the 40 is that Roc won like $1500 or so from me as I was up a bit before we started playing HU so I won like $20 or something goofy in the NL game and lost $300 or whatever in the 20 game.

One might think I'd be disappointed that I lost, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Like I said, the ego vs ego battle was just awesome. That I was a huge favorite in the game also helped, but it's not often that I get to play someone else that has the same sense of absolute overconfidence that I do, especially with the life metagame stuff going on. I am really hoping we can organize a mixed game on Friday.

Also I'm really not digging the 10/10 blinds in the NL game at Oceans, it promotes way too much nittiness instead of tougher/swongier limper isolating poker. Cap on the buyin is also pretty gay. I wouldn't even buy in for more than 3k because I'm not comfortable playing any deeper, it's just that I feel like a nit when I reload any time I'm below 1800 (max 2k) but they're so bad that I would feel even more moronic to miss out on a free $200 that can come at any time.

*edit*
wow im running good, went into the kitchen for water and saw an amazon box with a bunch of crap i bought and forgot about including 28 weeks later. fwiw im sure this movie will be awful, thankfully awful unwatchable movies are my most favorite kind of movies. Also just realized that I was only like 600 winner when I started playing Roc HU and I don't believe I was ever ahead more than 1500 so basically he won 600 from me even after coolering me out of like 2200ish so I can't complain about that. I'm also really happy with how my NL game is coming along. Running well helps but basically between last week online last week Commerce and last night/tonight online and live I feel like I've learned a [censored] and am becoming somewhat tough and not particularly pleasant to play against which is worth an incredible amount in live games and the small games I'm at right now online where everyone is still super easy to take advantage of.

HOWMANY--

Hey, nice post. You're one of my favorites because:

(A) You're prolific and post good advice, and

(B) All the hands you post are hilarious because they're all about how you had to adjust because you didn't notice that someone posted a LP blind, or 3bet preflop, or that Roc was on the board, etc.

Anyway, I'm trying to work on my HU NLHE game to avoid forgetting everything I know about poker while I grind SNGs. If you want to set up some sort of online HU grudge match at small stakes in the spirit of collegial competition, let me know.
