Full Tilt Poker Game #3313684571: Table Overo (heads up) - $3/$6 - No Limit Hold'em - 19:55:52 ET - 2007/08/20
Seat 1: Jeffmet3 ($914) Seat 2: mattpet ($1,060.50) mattpet posts the small blind of $3 Jeffmet3 posts the big blind of $6 The button is in seat #2 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Jeffmet3 [Kc Qh] mattpet calls $3 Jeffmet3 raises to $18 mattpet raises to $54 Jeffmet3 has 15 seconds left to act Jeffmet3 calls $36 *** FLOP *** [Qc 8c Ac] Jeffmet3 checks mattpet bets $108 Jeffmet3 has 15 seconds left to act Jeffmet3 has requested TIME Jeffmet3 raises to $860, and is all in that is the only option right? villain was retarded and somehow misclicked the fold button at lucky times, but i'm talking about in general, this is the standard line? It seems like calling puts you in terrible position |

what am i missing? i would c/c the flop and then look to fold [/ QUOTE ] but i thought you're supposed to be aggressive, and you can't win folding. i still think it was good because this guy was retarded, but i thought my play was pretty standard against good aggressive players. can someone explain why its not? thanks |

Re: Checking up on a heads up line ,3/6
i really hate it cuz your overbet makes your hand obvious
i'd make it 330 and call a shove, muchmuhc better edit: oh, and he makes it impossible to bluff and his calling range obviously has you drawing really thin and that's a lot of money to put in on a mediocre draw |

[ QUOTE ] can someone explain why its not? thanks [/ QUOTE ] What do you think he calls you with? [/ QUOTE ] well, here was my thinking. He's folding any ace other than AQ, A8, which if he has one, is good. i'm a coinflip vs an ace, and i'll gladly take the pot and his $150 there. plus, odds are, even if he calls im in pretty good shape. That, and the fact that I felt that pushing allowed me to play best. Because say I call and the turn bricks. Theres a decent chance that he bets this regardless of his hand. But then i have to fold a pot on the turn because i dont have the odds to call. So, i guess that's wrong, but what part of it? thanks, im really interested in hearing this if you dont mind. jeff edit to add, i guess i dont want him to call. its like a semi-bluff i guess, but one in which im very strong. |
