Default how big of an influence does math play for you?

I was reading skier's post, and I was curious about people here. I don't think I even know how to use pokerstove, and just sometimes use the cardplayer calculator to figure out odds when I'm unsure. I also never read any of the poker books as I found them all painfully boring, so I kind of just learned by playing. Is that something that's out of the ordinary, or are most people similar?

I ask because I've been thinking about some things I do wrong, and I think a lot of the reason I make some mistakes is that I don't think about the math and odds behind decisions, and then they just end up being really bad plays, that lose money and put me in [censored] situations later on (reverse implied odds?)

Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I thought it would be an interesting discussion.
