Default Can ANYONE beat the CA snatch games?

Mod note: In the past there have been actual snatch games in public casinos. These are not snatch games and should not be confused as such. -RR

The greedy bastards in LA have upped the rake in NLHE games by grabbing an additional dollar ON THE RIVER (if the pot is over $40 by then). This puts the lie to their excuse for moving to the "drop the whole pot before the flop" ripoff (remember when they said that they "couldn't" drop any money from the pot after the cards were dealt? hahahahahaaaa..).

I can't BELIEVE that ANYONE continues to sit in a CA snatch game after seeing the ENTIRE pot go into the box. Or they see the flop, bet, and collect the $0 pot. How on earth can they get away with this larceny? Are all the SoCal players degenerate gambling sickos? How can they hope to keep a game alive where EVERYONE loses????????

And if the previous immense profits weren't enough for them--now they grab ANOTHER buck, as above. I guess if I were running a similar business, and I perceived that I could assault and rape MY customers and not lose any business, I'd do just that. Or MAYBE---I'd treat everyone decently and not rip them off. Just MAYBE.

If the professed top earning rate of 2 big bets/hr is the best that can be achieved, then a $6 or $7 snatch makes the small games COMPLETELY untenable (I consider jackpot drops to be completely lost money, as I am a sound player, and therefore will likely NOT be involved in the jackpot hand.)

INTERESTING that the $1 hosing went into effect at THREE major LA card barns on the SAME day, BTW.

yea i pretty much stopped playing myself at the major LA cardrooms, partly because no bankroll, but even when i get the cash up to play, i make the trip to crystal park in compton, better comps, one hour = food, u can get free/really cheap rooms depending on the hour. rake isnt like vegas, but its like what commerce/the bike used to be, 3+1, and the SSNL there is a 40-100 buying 1/2 game, i like this structure better. only bad part is too many props, so find out when the tournies are, usually 6-8, and then play with the busted tourny players for good action. the food staff kinda sucks, the dealers a little less than par, but the floor is real good and the rake is low. holla!

ps drinks are a ripoff there too, so if u want a drunk donkfest, sneak in some liquor

edit: anyone know if hustler raised the rake too? or HG?

Technically, the extra buck that Commerce and The Bike collect is if their is a called turn bet. It is not based on pot size.

Hustler just drops $4+1 in its 50 game and $5+1 in its 100-300 game.
