HU theory
before i begin, let me say that i am far from a heads up expert...i'm competent at best.
many people here recommend that you raise in position or fold...seldomly should one limp when playing heads up. now, given that chances that you will miss the flop are higher than you hitting flop, how do you reconcile the notion of, say, cbetting 80% of the time. especially if your opponent raises your cbet everytime, whether or not he has anything? one may assume that you should start cbetting less and only continuation bet if you hit. well...this is VERY easy to notice, ESPECIALLY if you're playing raise/fold on the button. discuss |

Re: HU theory
It is good you think about the game and you are right in what you write. HU just like any poker game is about adjusting and being one or more steps ahead of your opponent.

Re: HU theory
delayed cbet, call his c/r and make a move on the turn, b/3b flop, etc etc etc
like Kex said, it's about adjusting and re-adjusting. |

Re: HU theory
Lately I just started to fold preflop OTB like 40% of hands against calling station. Screw them. My limit's rake is not worth even limping it against such player, when I don't even know he has 23o or AA. Yeah, yeah, I know, you can VB him to death. But in HU it doesnt work that great really.

Re: HU theory
I open-up 100% of the time:
1)vs tight preflop bb 2)straightforward postflop player 3)vs the guy who doesn't know know how to adjust good quantity of river overbets. 4)...can't think of right now... And uhm, actually sometimes I fold even not 40%, but even 60-70% of hands preflop,vs better player, very tricky, very aggro. |
