It is almost impossible to answer these questions because a great player will move up in limits before anyone can even determine with accuracy his true win rate .

Maybe, but I think at that level there are probably a good number of people that hang around even after they have mastered that level. of course that is just idle speculation on my part...

I can't speak for "top" players, but 2-3 bb at 5/10 is doing reasonably well. Most better players will gain the needed bankroll and move up.
