i was doin pretty well at the 20s and 22$ on FTP but started a pretty big downswing. whats a normal downswing for these stakes?

35 buyins if you are talking about a day.
Not much more if you are beating them with a nice ROI, with <10$ ROI, perhaps 50-75 buyins a week.

I think a 50 buyin downswing wouldn't be too uncommon.

I guess if you don't have 30 buyin downswing, you are either not playing long enough, or are not fully making use of your earning potential.

20-30 BI downswings are not that uncommon, 50 is possible for a winning player, especially if you are playing turbos. For regular sngs 20-30 BI DS is reaching the peak of what you should expect though IMO
