What's my river play??


Party Poker ($10/$20 limit). Hand converted by Check Raised hand converter

Preflop (6 players): Hero is BB with
UTG 2 bets.
2 folds.
BTN 3 bets.
1 fold.
HERO caps.
UTG calls [5.75:1].
BTN calls [12.5:1].

Flop (12.5 small bets ($125) in pot, 3 players):

HERO bets.
UTG 2 bets.
BTN folds [7.75:1].
HERO 3 bets.
UTG calls [18.5:1].

Turn (9.25 bets ($185) in pot, 2 players):

HERO bets.
UTG calls [11.25:1].

River (11.25 bets ($225) in pot, 2 players):




HERO ... ??

I think it is a bet/fold. A lot of hands that you beat want to see a showdown here and a bluff is just too rare on this board with this action.

FWIW, I did bet the river.


One option I was wondering about though, was check/call in order to induce a bluff from a hand that may not call my river bet ...


Just wondering ...

Nah. He'll probably pay off with AQ. He's probably not even betting TT.

Betting appears to be far superior to checking. Although I hate being raised.

I'd probably bet and fold to a raise typically - he won't raise w/o at least kings and a good kick and may just call with that in some cases. You might have been beaten by something like QQ anyway. Also, he'll call with worse hands that he won't necessarily bet.

For what it's worth, I just call the three bets preflop. Will make the hand easier to play in many cases.
