Foxy Friday
Am thinking of making my first trip to the mecca that is Foxwoods this Friday (Nov 23rd). Will be my first attempt at live poker.
Not being from this country I don't know whether or not that is a very bad idea.....with it being "black friday" and all. Can any of you guys please advise. |

Re: Foxy Friday
i'm confident that foxwoods will be insanely busy on black friday. that means it's probably a great time to play poker, but i would get there early so you can get a seat before hannukah.

Re: Foxy Friday
I feel stoopid for having to look up black friday.
But yeah, what Tyler said. |

Re: Foxy Friday
I play at Foxwoods a couple of times a month and it will definitely be busy. But, their poker room is HUGE and I've noticed that when its real busy at the casino the poker room isn't always super busy.
If you get there before noon, you will wait less than 15 minutes if you play 2/4 or 4/8. Afternoon it could be up to an hour wait. I'll be there on Friday too. Good luck...its a great poker room. |

Re: Foxy Friday
I assume if you are a micro-er you will be playing 2-4 or 4-8. I and everyone else who has played there strongly recommend 4-8, the rake is effectively >50% lower. It's capped at $4 at either level, but the 4th dollar is at $40 at 2-4 and 60 (or 80) at 4-8. The players are virtually the same, although you may get a more aggro player or 2 at 4-8. If you can beat .25-.5 or .5/1 online you will be the best player at your table.

Re: Foxy Friday
It is definitely a good idea to go and give live action a try. Like others have said, if you are winning online player you will have a significant edge at any low limit table you sit at. Foxwoods has its fair share of low limit donkeys just like any other poker room.

Re: Foxy Friday
Thanks all for the advice and encouragement.
If you're there, look out for me. I'll be the bald guy playing at the lowest limits who is hardly able to hide his excitement whenever dealt anything noteworthy. |
