I bet if we could guess 7 names that we'd get the 5 GM's that voted this way.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'm going out on a limb and saying Hendry.

its not football where u have to look at something frame by frame 8 different times from three different angles and then ponder obscure rules.

[/ QUOTE ]

Did you happen to see the replay of Manny's HR/single at Jacobs in the ALCS?

[/ QUOTE ]
i dont really remember one other hr call this year that wasn't obvious after the first replay was shown

I doubt this goes anywhere. After all, aren't the variable "home runs zones" of individual umpires one of the wonderful quirky parts of this game?

Yeah, Wade is a definite no.

And, it also looks like Bowden and O'Dowd were part of the committee that recommended the measure, so we can cross them off the list. I think Manaya also voted for it.

Hendry is still a very viable candidate, and I wouldn't count out Frank Wren (Schuerholz was always against it). Basically, it's down to the staunch traditionalists and the Selig lapdogs. We should be able to narrow it down...

Wow, Dan O'Dowd is in favor of it? That really, REALLY surprises me.

Hendry is almost assuredly a definite no. I remember hearing something about it from him.
