Default The \"throw option\"

At a fairly nice public course, how many times per round would you (10 handicap) throw the ball instead of hitting it, if this was an option? would it help your score ? by how much ?

how much would this change for a 20+ handicap?

After some throwing practice I would guess it would help the average 10 about four to five shots all around the green and from some bunkers.

hypothetically speaking, if you had the option to throw the ball whenever you wanted, instead of hitting it.

Well hypothetically speaking, if I had the opportunity to boink Natalie Gulbis whenever I wanted, I would choose to a totally ridiculous amount.

On a 90 yard par 3, my friend said he could get the ball in the hole in 3 throws. We made it two throws then a putt with but you had to putt like you were using a pool cue.

After two throws he was facing a 3 foot putt. This was with no practice at all. With a little practice I think you could save almost a stroke a hole if your short game is mediocre.
