Default 10Js go go go!

5 handed 10/20, hero in the SB.

Villain open raises from UTG+1. I've played thousands of hands with him, he's a dangerous lag and right now is playing below what he usually plays and extra-lagging it up. Probably like 35/30/3 at this table. he is open raising any pocket pair here, any two paint, and probably raising any suited connector about 50% of the time. He reads me as a little too overly weak-tight at times (a few hands ago he commented after a river fold that he had me at 100% win when C/R river over 2k hands.)

Folded to me, I 3bet JTs.

FLOP QQ9r

I check, he bets, I raise, he calls.

TURN 9c (now two clubs on board)

I bet, he raises, I call.

RIVER Kd

I check, he bets, I call.

--

Turn is what I'm most interested in. Instinctively went to 3bet, then to fold, then just called when I almost timed out.

Given his impression of you I think he will play back at you far too often to 3bet this preflop. You probably don't have the best hand, you're out of position, and you probably won't get him to fold the best hand very often. (He's a SD monkey, right?) I think the flop c/r after your preflop 3bet from the SB screams bull. Given that you did it, and he called, I would expect him to raise this turn often, and fold basically never. Therefore, I would c/c turn and either bet or c/r river when I hit (depending on his river tendencies).

So basically, I strongly disagree with every street of this hand.

As an afternote, I think you should have followed your first instinct and insta-3bet the turn given your weird line.

i like folding on the turn to his reraise, you could easily be drawing dead, easy fold.

I think you have to fold the turn. There are three possible scenarios:

1) Best case he has an underpair or suited cardsmaybe flush draw.
2)Then maybe he has an ace or king and you are on a draw.
3)Of course worse case he could have the boat and you are drawing dead.

The call play is terrible you really need to fold and if you don't fold you need to three bet at least then he might fold in scenario 2.

I prefer a turn 3bet to a turn call. A turn fold could be better than either two but it really depends.

Am I the only one that would fold this PF to an UTG raise from the SB?

I wouldn't fold with this guy on tilt from UTG+1 (5 handed).

I wouldn't reraise either.

I think hero's flop c/r is the weirdest/(worst?) play in this hand.

Im pretty sure that when he bets flop u need best hand to win this. Your flopcheck is a sign of strength more then weakness. Why would u check nothing at all?

Results: Villain shows 7c8c

I didn't think he would float a flop C/R but he might float a c-bet. I was wrong obv.
