Here's an idea:

I've heard good things about the casino, but the organization sucks out loud. One thing that they DO seem willing to do is listen to suggestions.

As someone who really enjoys pretty much any poker OTHER than 1/2NL, Give me your feedback on this:

A lot of casinos in Niagara Falls, Vegas, and AC all will spread a certain "specialty" game at certain times. Typically it's because a group of steady players has a running game. For instance, Thursday night at Fallsview you can play 5/10 Omaha 8OB.

What would you think about trying to get a weekly HORSE game, or a good Omaha game on a Wednesday or a Thursday night? Obviously, with consistent interest, they would run it.

Monday and Tuesday are definitely our slowest nights. If something was going to happen that would be your best bet.

No, but if your going to get a group of people to come play a different game im just saying monday or tuesday will be the best bet to get it going. If you guys decide on something let me know and ill talk with some suits about it and see if its a possibility.

csabo - If you're a Wheeling employee, can you get them to focus on pushing the wait-lists through to fill the empty seats? The stories here really aren't exaggerations. Friday night three weeks ago, my table was 7-8 handed almost always for about 6 hours continuously. Meanwhile, the wait-list was deep, about 2.5 hours at worst. There were lots of tables with empty seats at all times.

The dealers were pushing the computer buttons to indicate vacancies, so the problem was at the desk. I think one cause might be that they keep calling the names of people who aren't around any longer, and they won't move on to other players. I also noticed there was a definite periodic wave - as if every once in awhile, the desk would remember that they should send some folks through occasionally. Then you'd see a group of people walk in and buy chips - then repeat 1/2 hour later. Even so, it was hit or miss as to which tables would have their empty seats filled.

There was a lot of frustration both outside and inside the room.

By the way, it's a great room when you've got a seat!

Well, the day really isn't the issue so much as the game to be spread would be. 20/40 is a bit high for a limit game I'd say to START spreading, but I'd certainly think a 10/20 is not out of the question for both LHE and O8/OB.

I don't imagine the room staying totally packed Mon-Fri once the novelty has worn, but I hope that it stays that way.

Regardless, I'd be intersted if you have some "Specialty" games spread... I don't care if it is HORSE, SHOE, Badugi, Lowball, Triple Draw, etc... Just something a bit different. I'd love a good Omaha 8ob game, because it's growing in popularity, and is a great action game.

It definitely is a front desk problem, i think with the 1/2 list so long and cluttered they are all the time calling names but get no one to show up. If it where me id call the name a few times, then go on to the next one. Then if someone comes to you saying there name was called and the seats filled, just put em back on the list for the seat. Just as long as you keep the seats filled.
Everyone and everythings still green. I think we have a great room and with a few changes that i think will come in the future it will be the best place to play...

Top issues
Wait list/Open Seats ( Mainly during rush)
Slow cocktail service
Traveling button ( Mixed reviews, once ppl understand it they are ok with it. But why be different?)
Lammers/Chip Running (Wow is this a crazy mishap that hopefully will be the first thing they change)

Anyone got any other issues they would like brought up.
And just a heads up for high limit players, the lottery commission have no made it known all hands in which the big blind is called and there is more than 10 in the pot it is to be raked.
Meaning in 5/10 NL UTG limps, any player raises and all fold, we have to cut two bucks now since the BB was called putting more than 20 in the pot. Even in 2/5 we would have to cut one dollar on a raise.

I eventually got to play and here was the table setup:

Seat 1- A high board I BLUFF AND SHOW A 2! OH SNAP!
Seat 2- Really incredible internet pro who plays perfectly.
Seat 3- OESD = Nuts I'M ALL IN HCHCAHCAHCAHC
Seat 4- OMFG I FOLD EVERY HAND YOU'RE ALL SO SLOW GIMME ACES PLZZZZZ
Seat 5- I'll call you down with no pair, PAL. YER DEAD.
Seat 6- 90% VPIP, 89% PFR, 0% look at cards preflop (serious)
Seat 7- Okkkkk finneeee I'll calllllll
Seat 8- TIGHT! HORSE RACES LOL!
Seat 9- TIGHT!
Seat 10- Honestly don't even remember what he looked like because I don't think he played a hand in 3 hours.

Overall the game was really soft. The dealers weren't very bad at all but the floor seems kinda like a bunch of boneheads.
