Re: Insanity rating pls: 2/4 AA fold
Alright this obviously isn't a fold, but for the real question at hand:
Should you raise? |

Re: Insanity rating pls: 2/4 AA fold
[ QUOTE ]
moving all-in solely to protect against a two-outer is a pretty [censored] terrible play [/ QUOTE ] That's a lazy thing to say... what if both players' cards get exposed? Do you flat call then? The question is whether villain's hand is sufficiently exposed by the turn call after the line he runs. btw... if you were dropped into villain's situation with AK after I bet turn, are you telling me your line would be flat call, bet river? [ QUOTE ] if he's so concerned with free cards, why is he checking twice? [/ QUOTE ] Because he thinks (if he has AK) that he can get one bet out of me, but not two? Cmon its not rocket science. Also, I don't in reality think he is concerned with free cards. The better question is "What kind of hand doesn't care at all about free cards, but calls bets and then bets big on the river?". [ QUOTE ] your line of thought for him is completely inconsistent. I mean, you say he's checking the flop either to slowplay, or for pot control... then you think he should move all-in? where'd the pot control go? [/ QUOTE ] I meant pot control if he had a poorish hand like QQ. AK is obviously a committed hand on this flop. If AK checks, it's a slowplay. [ QUOTE ] you say he can't have air once he checks the flop... and we beat most of his range... so why aren't we betting? he's never folding, and we crush his range... [/ QUOTE ] Bet's OK. I don't think it really matters because it only takes two streets to get him allin anyway. At the time my idea was that the check meant he either had a crushing hand or hated his hand, and betting didn't seem to achieve much in either case. I followed up with a bet on the turn with the idea of stacking a bad hand, but that plan evaporated when he ran the flat call, bet river line. Anyway I'm about done with the thread... I recognise that the fold looks crazy. It depends how much weight you put on line choice... three things together, the double check, failure to checkraise, and then fancy sized bet rather than allin on the river, combine to suggest KK very strongly to me. MSNL's response appears to be that it's irrelevant, which could well be right. |

Re: Insanity rating pls: 2/4 AA fold
you make a bad fold vs KT a lot, and a good fold vs TT a lot. hope this helps!

Re: Insanity rating pls: 2/4 AA fold
I'd be looking to go ARRRRRRRRR-in, not to fold.
edit-- while it's good that you put lots of thought into your explanations, maybe try to make them more concise? sorta hard to get through all of that. |

Re: Insanity rating pls: 2/4 AA fold
i do not mind this fold but you have to have a very strong read on your opponent that he won't play AK this way

Re: Insanity rating pls: 2/4 AA fold
Please don't fold here, I really can't imagine almost anyone having KK here often enough to justify folding. This can simply be AK, KT, or total air (missed hearts?) too much to much to this size river bet.
