Default Virgin experience... (130 deep)

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

saw flop|<font color="#C00000">saw showdown</font>

MP ($446.80)
Hero ($799.50)
Button ($1117.86)
SB ($203.31)
BB ($360.02)
UTG ($783.50)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $3.
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $24</font>, Button calls $24, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($57) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $39</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $78</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $264</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $450</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $771

Villain is solid. I took a pot off him earlier with a semibluff all in on the turn (I didn't show). I don't know if that's relevant. I'm including it for thoroughness. Thanks,

Krishan

yuck

i'd either call and check-raise the turn, or stop-n-go. he has JJ.

Lines don't really matter at this point. I'm either in or I'm out. He is pot committed at this point.

i'm talking about here. your flop 3-bet is pretty bad IMO. almost worse than the fold.

ive never folded sets on dry boards like these, but given the way you got there, i think a fold is ok.

i just would have never gotten to that point. flop 3bet is bad. he has a (weak) made hand alot. much more often than when he has a monster.

Well one way to play sets heads up is to always play for stacks 100% of the time. I'm sure that's close to optimal. Optimal however is folding them some small % of the time when you know you are beat. This is the first set I've folded this way in 150K hands of NL.
