Me against a 2p2er. 22 in the BB
Villian in this hand is a very solid 2+2er whose play I respect and who respects me in kind. We have tangled a few times, and neither of us has gotten very out of line. I assume this confrontation will be the same.
Two limpers to me, 2+2er completes, I check my 22 in the BB. Flop A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] He checks, I bet, limpers fold, he C/R, I 3-town, he calls. Turn T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] He checks and calls. He says "I'm giving you a lot of credit right now." I say "That's good, because I have a good hand." He says "I know, I'm giving you credit for the nuts." I believe him as best as I could. River: T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] He donks. My play? |

Why wouldn't you raise here? His range of hands you beat is much bigger than those you're losing to IMO. If he had a hand that caught up to you on the river he would have been more aggressive earlier. Unlikely he's only c/c the turn with 44, AT, or AA with the FD out there.

Re: Me against a 2p2er. 22 in the BB
I felt his table talk was him saying "I'm checking AT to you, and that's because I put you on a set". But that seems kind of silly. I raise the river. The only real question is what to do when he raises back...

Raise. I also tend to smotth call the c/r heads up and raise the turn.

Raise. I also tend to smotth call the c/r heads up and raise the turn. [/ QUOTE ] I used to do that, but with a texture like this, so many cards are action killers. I like to get as many bets in on the flop as possible. |

Re: Me against a 2p2er. 22 in the BB
A solid player would not check this flop with a made hand like an A, definitely not with AT. He would check and see where the bet comes from before raising with a draw. I'm putting him on a flush so it's a raise.
