villian was a weakish TAG and my image is LAG. I usually bet the turn but tried something different this time. I'm looking for feedback on my raising on the river and what I should do once villian shoves.

do not raise rive very bad idea. Just call. only hands that beat you a weakish tag will call you with

fold river as played

Bet more on the flop for value. You should bet that turn as a standard.
As played I don't like that big river raise, since villain probably won't call without a J, because a Q could easily thinking that you were betting middle pair on the flop and now have rivered trips. Even a minraise is too much probably. You are turning your hand into a bluff, imo. I think I flat call here. Only exception: confirmed big calling station.
Here, you should fold, actually.

pot control is fine on the turn (if u never fold the river)

the river u just cannot raise for value

my turn check was kinda for pot control but it was more to disguise my hand because i had been c-betting a ton of flops and then giving up. i checked the turn to get action from AQ/KQ on the river or to let someone floating the flop to take a stab. looking back the J is not the best river to be raising for value, but what if it was a 2?

No. Only a loose calling station maybe. But not a tag with that river card. Maybe he can convince himself to call when he holds AQ. But I think he'd fold everything else (except QQ of course...)

Sorry to hijack thread, but what is plan if villain bets out on turn for 3/4 to psb?

I'm curious as to what line is taken if this happens.

I'm def not folding and I think raising folds out hands I beat so I would probably just call and see what happens on the river with intentions of calling most bets.

also when i said weakish TAG i meant that of the standard playing styles he was more TAG than LAG but he is a weak/bad player so he will make bad calls/bluffs that don't make sense etc.

I agree that raising this river was not good but would like it better if river was a 2 or something that missed more of his floating range. I ended up time banking and called cuz i was getting 6:1 and my turn check severly underrepped my hand for how aggressive i was at the table. results in white below:

<font color="white"> villian had T9</font>
